Frankie & The ‘Stache
I’ve actually had a lot more to post on here lately then I was expecting honestly. I think it’s cause of the unemployment, still wish I could do more. Anyways, here is a comix the great Robin LeBlanc wrote for me to draw. Enjoy.
Two Tickets To Heaven Part 1
Hey guys, I just got the O.K. to show this comix. I’ve shown a page of this comix before. It was one I was working on for a lot longer then I should have and this is only the first part. I was really experimenting with inkwash when I first started working on this. Here is the first part of Two Tickets to Heaven, written by my friend William Ellwood.
Codewords
Hey guys! I haven’t had much to update lately. Been a slow month on the comix front and it’s about to get a bit slower as I’m going to go on vacation for the next month. Not that I won’t be working on comix or anything. I’m gonna have a big surprise when I get back. But in the mean time enjoy these two pages featuring everyone’s favorite spies!
Candy or Medicine
So it’s been a while. Sorry about that. Been working on a bunch of different things. I wanted to post a Week in Review thing but nothing exciting has happened the last couple of weeks, I’ve just been working on my comics and reading a few. Anyways…

CANDY OR MEDICINE! This is something I’ve been wanting to announce, my Mister Toast and Monsieur Croissant one pager I did with Sarah has been printed in the new Candy or Medicine! This is the first time any of my stuff has been printed in something that wasn’t done by me.
Other then that, I have these two pages I did recently. Nothing else since everything I’ve done recently is kind of a secret, so don’t tell no one! Working on a comix for a magazine, just finished the first half and submitting it today and the second half I’ll start working on as soon as I get notice it’s going to be in print! I can’t wait! I’ve also been really busy with my graphic novel, Bang Bang Goes Hunter! Which might be going online soon. We’ll see.

I some new comix recently, including the new King City, the first new King City since 2007! It wasn’t my favorite issue unfortunately, some of the art was iffy, don’t know why, I think Graham was still finding his groove after loosing his balls, poor guy, I can see him finding it again though in later stuff he’s shown, can’t wait to start reading that stuff.

Then there was Shaolin Cowboy, which has everything I love about Geof Darrow’s stuff, it’s japanese weird, with american style, and Darrow’s crazy detail work! Graphic violence that’ll make the sadist in you want to jerk off! Great first issue, can’t wait to get more, they’re pricey but worth it!

I also got a bundled pack of Fantasy comics, I was hoping for more Conan stuff, but it was mostly crap I didn’t want to read, except Groo! I’d been meaning to pick this comic up and I think this was a good opportunity! It was pretty funny, it was like reading a full length Sunday Newspaper funnies strip. Clever characters and story. I’m definitely gonna get more of it.

I’ve been catching up on The BOYS, too. I hadn’t been able to buy much of the books recently, well over a year, I’d buy one here or there, but I wouldn’t read it because it wasn’t in order with what I’d already had. I don’t like reading random issues, so I waited for a while. I just got a TPB though and it’s nice to read a book I use to read monthly. Catching up on the story and stuff. Reading where I left off. I just wish Darrick’s stuff looked better like it did in Transmet.

I also finally finished Grey! What a great story! I loved it. It ended really well and it was a roller coaster of emotion and explosions and mystery. I want to read more stuff by this artist but I’m afraid I’m going to be let down and they won’t all be as cool and sci-fi like this book. His style is weird but good. I really enjoyed it.
FUCK LIKE BUNNIES
Heya guys, another week gone and it went a little something, like this.
Been busy, this week is a slow week as far as going out and doing shit, Sarah is in NC and I’m broke, no joke. But it just means I can get some work done, not that I haven’t been productive, just not very productive on getting my shit online. ANYWAYS. Got a giant ass box of comix this weekend, lots of Cheval Noir, some Akira and GREY though I haven’t gotten to those yet, some Bugtown books, some Usagi Yojimbo and some others.
I wanna talk about some of these stories I’ve been reading in Cheval Noir first. One of my favorites has got to be The Extrodinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-sec by Jacques Tardi. It’s one of those books that if you just flip through it and see that art you’ll think it’s gonna be a funny cartoony book. Really though it’s such a deep adult story. Really amazing and I feel greatly inspired by Herge.

Another story I’ve been reading in Cheval Noir that I really like is the story or RORK by Andres. It’s about a man who’s centuries old and a student of the occult. He’s put in these extrodinary situations with extraterrestrial beings. Things like alien stains. Really weird and great stuff. Goes sci-fi and mythical all at once.

Another good writter is Cosey and his VOYAGE TO ITALY. It’s about a guy who was in the war, I think Korean or Vietnam, he’s unhappy being happy in life and wants adventure and risk, he can’t settle down. So he joins his friend on a trip to Italy where he runs into an old flame of his. It’s a nice story with good artwork.

Then we’ve got these awesome guys who’s down two stories I love. One is called THE TOWER and the other is called FEVER IN URBICAND by Schuiten & Peeters. They’re stories that focus alot on architecture so you get to see these amazingly drawn out buildings. So detailed and then something so minimalist. The buildings themselves are characters, these are great stories and so beautifully drawn. Look at this stuff!

Then I’ve gotten some USAGI YOJIMBO books. I’ve been wanting to read some of this stuff for a while. I remember toys of USAGI YOJIMBO when I was little with my TNMT toys, but that’s all I had. I never read a comix with USAGI until recently in a Darkhorse thing I grabbed. Stan Sakai has this really amazing style. Very simple but so effective. His story telling is so smooth. I love it. I can see why it’s a fan favorite, when I fall for this series you fall hard, smack down, brains splattering hard.

Then finally more MATT HOWARTH FUCKING AWESOMENESS! It seems Matt in his more recent stuff has gotten much more insane and violent. You’ve got tits and guns and blood and just amazingly fun! These stories he writes are insane and so fun to read and at the same time make me thing of TINTIN because of how it’s just one adventure after the next!

Week in Review
This is a new thing I’m gonna try. It’s a comix about my week. I’ve never done a bio comix before. Click to enlarge and read fully.
